The Problem
Desktop and server virtualization makes it easy to create new machines as users request them. However, this can lead to VM sprawl with tens or hundreds of machines that are unidentified, unknown or underutilized. Excess VMs consume valuable resources that have real costs, that have resources that could be allocated to other workloads, and also that may present unidentified security risks.

vmSight allows you to automatically discover the users and applications on each VM, to spot rogue or unidentified VMs, and to identify VMs that are underutilized or unused. The vmSight solution efficiently monitors your virtual environment, and gives you the user and application visibility you need to control VM sprawl. vmSight integrates directly with VMware Virtual Center to make sure that all created VMs are tracked and accounted for.
