User Interface Specialist

 

vmSight™ is seeking a motivated individual to join an exciting young company in a full-time or consulting capacity as a software engineer. This is a position for a candidate who has a solid software engineering background with strong experience in graphic design and user interface development, working with web-based UI technologies such as Ajax, DHTML and Javascript. This position offers a great opportunity to work on leading-edge software products related to virtual networks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with some or all of the following: DHTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, Ajax, Javascript or Ajax frameworks, Java.

Specific Duties

The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and must be flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of a small start-up company.

• Hands-on development of web-based user interface.
• Develop pluggable web widgets for configurable interfaces
• Work closely with graphic designers and other UI specialists.
• Participate in the definition and design of new application interfaces.

Required Skills

To be effective in this position the candidate must be technically capable of performing assigned duties with limited direction. Specific knowledge and skills required for this position include:

• Bachelors in CS or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 3+ years of graphic design and user interface development for commercial software applications.
• Strong experience in programming some or all of the following: DHTML, CSS, Javascript, Java, Ajax, Flash, Dojo, XML.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly break down complex issues.
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including use of version control systems, change and defect tracking tools, and test automation tools.

Additional information

This position is located in Alpharetta, Georgia, and has an immediate start date. It is a full-time or contract position, working a standard daytime shift, although some nights and weekend work may be required.
